The NRW – Dutch Counsel of Shopping Centers – nominated our project “Centrumplan Rosmalen” for its annual award. The jury recognises the nominated projects as “examples for the entire sector”.


Foruminvest Italia has signed the preliminary purchase agreement for a land plot of 1.15 ha for hotel development of 240 rooms and 120 parking spaces.

The seller is Villa Carmen Srl, an Italian joint venture between Schiphol Real Estate and an Italian partner. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The hotel will be located right in front of the international terminal of Malpensa Airport (Milan), on the grounds of Vizzola Business Park. Milan Malpensa Airport is the largest international airport in Northern Italy. In 2019, the airport handled approximately 28.8 million passengers.
The site is easily accessible from the A4 and A8 highways. The Malpensa Express train, connecting the airport to Milan city centre, is within walking distance.

Foruminvest, Hart van Zuid, the Municipality of Rotterdam and Rotterdam Ahoy recently underwrote an agreement for the realization of a Hotel project of 250 rooms, to be developed on the land of Ahoy. The Hotel is expected to inaugurate in 2022.

Such Hotel development will become integral part of the broader area under development promoted by Hart van Zuid. Foruminvest, through this development project, will be responding to the growing demand for hotel rooms in the Rotterdam region, as well as supporting the rapidly expanding Ahoy neighborhood, together with the new Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center and the Music and Theater Hall RTM Stage.

By co-signing the covenant with Minister Van Veldhoven (Environment and Housing), Foruminvest has joined the City Deal Electric sharing mobility in urban areas.

The Biesbosch project in Amstelveen with 276 apartments will be a pilot project for the City Deal. By offering a wide range of electric sharing cars in the project, Foruminvest wants to encourage residents to opt for electric sharing mobility. In addition, the pilot projects contribute to knowledge about market penetration and conversion of partial mobility and regular parking spaces.


Bob van de Geer has started in his new role per January 1st, 2020 as Development manager.

In this role Van de Geer will focus on the development residential properties hotels in The Netherlands. Prior to this position, Van der Geer had successfully finished a traineeship at the Amsterdam office. Bob holds a Master’s degree in financial management.


Recently Foruminvest Italia signed the agreement for the development of the ‘Monopolis’ Lifestyle Center in Monopoli (Puglia-Italy). Gran Shopping Mongolfiera was the first development project of Foruminvest Italia in Puglia, which opened to the public in 2008, with a lettable area of 35,000 m² and 130 stores, located in Molfetta (BA).

Monopolis Lifestyle Center is located near the motorway connecting Bari and Brindisi. It comprises more than 43,000 m² GLA, including a supermarket of approx. 4,500 m², more than fifteen MSU´s and various bars and restaurants that make up a beautiful foodcourt facing the sea. In total, the Lifestyle Center will have about 60 stores and around 2,000 easily accessible parking spaces centrally located, surrounded by all the shops.

Monopolis will play an important role in a catchment area of approximately 350,000 consumers. The opening of the retail park is planned for the first quarter of 2019.


Construction of City Center Project Rosmalen is progressing steadily.

In September 2018 the Centrumplan Rosmalen will open the doors to the public.

More than 90% of the retail space has now been let.


Ares 2002, a company of the Fresia Gourp and FREM, a subsidiary of the Dutch Foruminvest Group, starte the construction of Shopping Center Gran Roma in Rome. The Shopping Center comprises 31.000 m2 and will be opened in March 2019.

The development includes a shopping mall of 31.000 m2 and 1.800 (partially underground) parking spaces and is located on the east side (Via Prenestina) of the internal ring road of Rome.

The ´Gran Roma´ Shopping Center will have 98 units with major international brands such as ZARA, H&M, MediaWorld (MediaMarkt), Cisalfa (Intersport), Maison du Monde, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Flying Tiger, Calzedonia, Sephora and numerous famous national and local names such as Tezenis, Zuiki and Kasanova.

The design of ‘Gran Roma’ is characterized by a contemporary, modern architecture with respect for its surroundings. The shopping center consists of two retail levels and has a strong and clear shopping circuit, including a grand atrium and large foodcourt at +1 level. Wide and spacious passages with large voids allow optimal visibility and interaction between the two levels. Easily accessible parking facilities consisting of 1,800 comfortable spaces are located at ground level and in an luminous underground parking garage.
One of the key features of the shopping center is the foodcourt with various types of food offering and a large exterior terrace with splendid views on natural surroundings and remains of a historical Roman aqueduct in particular.

The combination of high quality architecture, a perfect tenant-mix, great location and large catchment area will make Gran Roma a new retail destination!

On March 14 Foruminvest Italia sold its 100% stake in shopping center “Gran Sasso”, Teramo (situated 175 km to the Adriatic coast northeast of Rome) to Orion European Real Estate Fund IV, a pan-European fund sponsored by Orion Capital Managers. The shopping center developed by Foruminvest Italia, opened in November 2007 and has since been owned by Foruminvest. The center consists of 30,000 m2 GLA retail space and is fully let to, amongst others, Conad (hypermarket), H&M, Media Markt (World), Bershka, Pull & Bear, Oviesse (OVS) Cisalfa (Intersport), Maison du Monde, Bricofer, Casa, Terranova and United Colors of Benetton and 1,850 parking spaces. In 2016 Gran Sasso had approximately 3.5 million visitors (+8% since 2014). The turnover of the center has increased by 17% since 2014, which is a positive trend after the economic recession. Foruminvest will continue to manage the mall for Orion. David Ermia (CEO of the Foruminvest Group) noted that they are very satisfied with this transaction and want to continue their relationship with Orion also on future projects. Orion was advised by Dentons and Studio Bellavite Pellegrini, while Jones Day advised Foruminvest.


Les Grands Prés shopping center in Mons (Mons) has been expanded by Foruminvest, in cooperation with City Mall, to 16,000 m2. Including the new IKEA one of the largest retail sites in the Benelux with 109 stores and a total area of over 100,000 m2 has been created. The new IKEA of approximately 35,000 m2 opened earlier this year its doors. Now the 22 new stores in late August are opened, it is expected an increase in footfall from 5.5 million last year to 8 million this year. Among the new stores, there are many famous brands such as H & M, Celio, Superdry, IKKS, Flying Tiger, Intersport and Desigual. “Since Foruminvest opened Les Grands Prés in 2003 the site’s surface now almost tripled. Anno 2016, the entire complex has about 101,000 square meters of shopping. This is in terms of retail space, the biggest player in the Benelux “, says managing director Axel Ceusters from property manager SCMS Ceusters. Both the existing center as the extension are an investment of Union Investment Real Estate.
