Foruminvest sells Centrumplan Rosmalen to Bouwinvest

Foruminvest has reached an agreement with Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Retail Fund on the sale of the Centrumplan shopping centre in Rosmalen. The new development will be located on Dorpsstraat and will be connected to the existing Rosmalen town centre. Construction of the project will commence in May of this year and the shops will open their doors in the summer of 2018. This transaction covers approximately 6,800 square metres of retail space, featuring Jumbo, Lidl, ICI Paris XL, Van Haren, Kruidvat, DFM Bloemen, Levix Computers, Bakkerij Van Keulen, La Vittoria Chocolaterie, and Brainwash hairdressers. The entire Centrumplan shopping centre, including a HEMA store, comprises approximately 8,100 square metres of retail space and is already over 85% leased. Collin Boelhouwer, Head of Dutch Retail Investments at Bouwinvest, said, “With this acquisition, we are taking another step towards realising the Retail Fund’s growth objectives. With a healthy catchment area, two supermarkets as anchors, and ample parking facilities, Centrumplan is a perfect fit with our Convenience strategy.” Aerjen Koeneman, Director Netherlands at Foruminvest, stated, “We are very pleased with the agreement reached. Bouwinvest is an expert and dedicated long-term investor. The development of the plan has been a lengthy process in which we have continuously adjusted the scope to the changing market, while maintaining the high-quality design by architect Soeters. The project will give the centre of Rosmalen a powerful boost.” The 39 residential units above the shops will be developed by Van Wijnen Projectontwikkeling Zuid. Van Wijnen Rosmalen will be responsible for the construction of the entire project.
